FOOTBALL CAMPS AND CLINICS


UBC Football 2011 O-Line Camp and the UBC Football 2011 WR/QB Camp

The two respective camps, scheduled for Saturday, January 8, 2011, take place at UBC Thunderbird Stadium and have openings for two age groups: Junior (11-14) and Senior (15-17).

The camps include two skill practices and one strength/speed session and focuses on positional fundamentals and skill development.

The cost for each respective camp is $85. To register, please go to

FOOTBALL SPECIFIC TRAINING WITH DINO GEREMIA

These workouts are for serious players with goals to reach the highest levels in their sport.  Utilizing over 18 yrs of experience in training and coaching elite level athletes at the University level Dino assesses the needs of each athlete and is able to manipulate workouts that create benefits for each player. Each 1.5 hour session will have a specific focus and will include an athletic dynamic warm-up, speed/agility drills, explosive strength and power lifting, core stability, cool down and post-stretch. Other areas essential to the full development of the athlete will be covered including diet, academics, leadership and recruiting creating the total package. Athletes must be prepared for indoor and outdoor workouts. Each athlete will also receive a binder with workout information and a means to chart progress.

Football BC Summer Medical Seminars

Football BC and SportMedBC will be offering one final “Sports First Aid course” as part of the Summer Medical Seminar series. The course is scheduled for Sunday, September 12th at New Westminster Secondary School. The Sports First Aid course is football specific and includes concussion-related education.

Please note that only one person per club or school can register per session but additional spots may open up allowing multiple attendees from the same club/school. 

Please contact communications@playfootball.bc.ca  if you wish to register more than one person from the same club or school. The cost to attend is free for all Football BC members but there will be a $200 charge for no-shows.

Cancellations must be phoned in to Football BC at 604-677-1025 and must be confirmed by the Wednesday prior to each session.

 

BC Lions Football 101 for Ladies

The BC Lions will once again be hosting their popular Football 101 Just for Ladies program in the 2010 season.

Football 101 is a classroom session providing attendees the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Canadian football in a fun-filled evening complete with wine and cheese. The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13th. The cost of the course is $60 (including tax) and comes with a ticket to a BC Lions home game and a pre-game chalk talk from former Lions great Jamie Taras.

Prince George hosting Thanksgiving Jamboree on October 9 & 10

Prince George will also be hosting a Thanksgiving Jamboree on October 9 & 10 for any team interested to play in a 9-man Jamboree style tournament on the Saturday.

There will then be a full game on Sunday in either 9-man or 12-man format depending on interest from teams in each division. There will be Atom, Pee Wee, Junior Bantam and Bantam Divisions.
