Pitt Meadows Secondary Football Program seeking coaches

The Pitt Meadows Marauders Football program is looking for coaches. We are a public school football program in School District 32 (Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge) and we're expanding our coaching staff.

We are in need of dedicated, knowledgeable coaches interested in helping us build our program and who are keen in helping our athletes develop into both football players and outstanding young men.

We are still a relatively new program with a great base of players that have experience and many that are new to the game. We are committed to building a quality program with a tradition that everyone involved can be proud of. If you, or someone you know, are interested, please contact Kris Little by phone at 604-842-9167 or email at

Of Interest: Proposal to ban off-season helmet use in Washington State

A recent hot news item coming from our neighbours south of the border concerns a proposal to ban school-issued helmets and pads during the summer for players.

The proposal is aimed at trying to stem the risk of concussions during off-season training but has been met with opposition from high school and college coaches who have suggested it would be detrimental to the sport.

The full story can be read here.

Thanks to BC High School Football's Larry Reda and Farhan Lalji for forwarding this story to us.
