Register now for the 2012 Football BC Provincial Conference - May 25-26, 2012 in Vancouver

Registration is now open for the 2012 Football BC Provincial Conference slated to be held on May 25-26, 2012 at Notre Dame Regional Secondary in Vancouver.

The cost to attend this year's Conference is $85 for an individual coach or $340 for a team (up to five coaches). As a reminder, all coaches who sign up for the conference will be able to complete their NCCP Community Initiation at no extra charge. To upgrade to complete NCCP Introduction to Competition there is an additional $75 charge per coach. Please make sure you select the option for Introduction to Competition if you wish to upgrade.

Four members of UBC T-Birds headed to East West Bowl

Canadian Interuniversity Sport announced last week that three members of the UBC Thunderbirds football team, along with T-Birds head coach Shawn Olson, have been selected to represent the school at the 10th annual East West Bowl presented by Under Armour.

OL Steve Zakrewski (Delta), DL Kareem Ba (White Rock) and DB Bryan Rideout (Victoria) will proudly represent the province of British Columbia and UBC as members of the West team. Olson will be an assistant coach for Team West.

In addition to the three members of the T-Birds that will be participating in the East West Bowl, there are five other players from British Columbia that are on the rosters of the respective teams.

The five other BC players are:

- Team East REC Justin Chapdelaine (Abbotsford) - Queen's

- Team East LB Tyler Lavin (Nanaimo) - McGill

- Team West REC Alex Anthony (Victoria) - Laurier

- Team West OL Scott Johnson (Chilliwack) - Manitoba

- Team West DB Matt McGarva (Surrey) - Windsor

The East West Bowl is set for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario.

BCFC Tier 2 - Week 2 schedule

The inaugural season of the BCFC Tier 2 kicked off last Saturday with the Burnaby Lions knocking off the Vancouver Trojans by a 24-14 score and the North Delta Longhorns blanking the Richmond Raiders 36-0.

Week 2's games will take place this coming Sunday, April 15 at Richmond's Minoru Park. The Burnaby Lions will face the North Delta Longhorns at noon followed by the Richmond Raiders battling the Vancouver Trojans at 2:30 pm.

Pitt Meadows Secondary Football Program seeking coaches

The Pitt Meadows Marauders Football program is looking for coaches. We are a public school football program in School District 32 (Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge) and we're expanding our coaching staff.

We are in need of dedicated, knowledgeable coaches interested in helping us build our program and who are keen in helping our athletes develop into both football players and outstanding young men.

We are still a relatively new program with a great base of players that have experience and many that are new to the game. We are committed to building a quality program with a tradition that everyone involved can be proud of. Campbell River Eagles Youth Football Skills Camp

The Campbell River Eagles will be holding a full contact skills camp for all players aged 8 to 18 on May 5 and 6 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Campbell River Sportsplex fields.

We have two BC Lions players - #53 OL Jesse Newman and #91 DL Sean Ortiz - attending both days and working with the players.

As well, we have players from the Nanaimo Raiders Jr. Football Team coming to assist with the players on both days. The cost is $50 and a lunch will be provided.

Although this will be an all-skills camp, it is a great opportunity for any offensive or defensive lineman from other teams to gain some skills from some pro and junior level players. Equipment can be provided if needed.

UBC 2012 Football Camps schedule

The UBC Thunderbirds have released their schedule of upcoming camps in the 2012 calendar year. Please visit for costs and information on all their camps.

Okanagan Pro-Am Football Camp

Participants can register now for the 6th annual Okanagan Pro-Am Football Camp (May 5 or May 6) in Kelowna, BC.

This is one of the top football camps in Canada where participants get to be coached by some of the best current former NFL and CFL players. Players will improve and develop their skills individually and by position.

28th Annual Western Canadian All Star CLAN Football Camp

The 28th annual Western Canadian All Star CLAN Football Camp - the longest running full contact camp in Canada - gets underway on Friday, June 29 and runs through to Monday, July 2. The camp features:
  • Over 3 hours of on-field instruction, including position-focused drills and group instruction
  • Live scrimmage on the last day of camp
  • Complete the experience by choosing the Live In option - players stay in SFU Residents with chaperone supervision and all meals are included.
