Football BC Provincial Conference takes place this weekend (April 5-6); CFL legend Anthony Calvillo will be the keynote speaker

Football BC's annual Provincial Conference will take place on April 5-6 at Notre Dame Regional Secondary School.

If you are a coach in this province, it is highly recommended that you attend this event.

The cost to attend remains the same as last year - $90 for an individual or $360 for a group of up to five coaches. Upgrading to get NCCP Introduction to Competition training is also available for an additional $70 per coach.

This year, Football BC is proud to announce Anthony Calvillo will be the keynote speaker at the event. Other confirmed speakers include:

Registration is a two-step process:

1. Register with your desired position here.

 
2. Once your registration has been reviewed by a Football BC staff member, you will be contacted by email to make your $1,000 USD deposit. Your registration is only considered completed once you have made your deposit.


What the experience is:

This week-long football experience offers players with a chance to receive football instruction from top coaches in the NCAA and NFL, participate in a game against a team comprised of San Diego Division III and younger athletes, tour the San Diego Chargers facility and the San Diego State University facility, and enjoy the best that Southern California has to offer.


What the package includes:
  • Round trip air fare from Seattle to San Diego

  • All ground transportation in Southern California

  • Hotel Accommodations

  • Meals

  • Tour admissions to Disneyland (1 park), SeaWorld San Diego., San Diego Zoo and USS Midway

  • Monday through Thursday football camp and instruction at practice field

  • Game versus San Diego Division III and smaller athletes 
    on Friday

  • Fully escorted team sports tour

Football BC has arranged for a special deal at the Sandman Hotel Vancouver City Centre during the Orange Helmet/Football BC Conference weekend.

The hotel is located at 180 W. Georgia St. in downtown Vancouver.

The offer is for $99 per night for a two double room.

To make reservations, coaches may phone 1-800-Sandman (726-3626) and mention: "Football BC Conference - Coaches" and reservation number 745984 at the Sandman Hotel Vancouver City Centre.

It is imperative to mention the correct reservation number when phoning the hotel.

                     

Orange Helmet Awards dinner is this Friday

The 2014 Orange Helmet Awards dinner takes place this Friday.

Five-time CFL All-Star and two-time Grey Cup champion Anthony Calvillo will be the keynote speaker at the event.



Last minute tickets are still available!

The amateur football rate is $200 per ticket or $2,000 for a table of 10. The corporate rate is $250 per ticket or $2,500 for a table of 10. Taxes not included.

5th annual SFU Athletics Gathering of the Clan Fundraising Breakfast (May 30) hosted by Brian Williams with keynote speaker Richard Sherman of the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. All proceeds from this event go to support SFU student athlete scholarships. For more details, click here

                     

2014 Star Bowl games


The annual Star Bowl games featuring the top Community football players in the VMFL will take place Saturday, April 12 at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley.

The game schedule is as follows.

12 pm - Bantam 9-man (Junior Varsity)
2:30 pm - Bantam 12-man (Junior Varsity)
5 pm - Midget (Varsity plus)

BCFC announces 2014 regular season schedule


This skills camp takes place at John Barsby High School in Nanaimo on May 3 and will focus on developing the fundamentals at each area.

The camp will consist of 3 practices (2 on-field & 1 classroom) over a 6 hour period.

GW Graham Grizzlies football team hosting their 3rd annual manure sale; Will also be accepting scrap metal to assist with Football BC's drive

The GW Graham Grizzlies will be holding their 3rd annual manure sale at the school (by the tennis courts) on April 5-6.

$5 per 40 lb bag or $20 for five bags.

The Grizzlies will also be accepting scrap metal on both days in support of Football BC's scrap metal drive. There will be a prize draw for anyone who donates.

2014 Victoria All-Star Football Camp

The 2014 Victoria All-Star Camp will take place June 28-29 at Mt. Douglas Secondary School.

This Full Contact Football Camp will focus on Skill Development, Positional Play, Character and Team Building and is for all Positions.

The Staff will feature High Quality Coaching including former Professional and University players…Coach Tim Kearse, Coach Bob Molle, Coach Mark Townsend and a host of others.

This camp is for players aged 9 to 13 years old (born in 2001 to 2005) and costs $100 per player (includes practice jersey, lunch and report card). Register before April 30 and 
pay only $85.

Football BC is asking the football community to join us in a fundraiser that will allow our entire football community to help raise money for all six of our Team BC programs as well as enable us to deliver more of our "Play Football" programs in elementary schools.

The 2014 Russell Wilson Passing Academy

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is bringing the Russell Wilson Passing Academy to Ambleside Park in West Vancouver on Saturday, July 5.

All positions and skills set are welcome, and no prior football experience is required. The camp is for ages 9 to 17 and runs from 9 am to 4 pm.

Camp activities include positional training, team-based drills, film room study, and fundamental training from some of the biggest stars in the NFL.

Football BC elementary school skills program

Football BC's elementary school skills program is open to all school aged children and is conducted during regular school hours usually as part of P.E. class.

This program allows kids to learn basic football skills from Football BC coaches as well as volunteer players from local high schools.
