West Vancouver Secondary School seeks head coach for junior program

The West Vancouver Secondary School Football program (School District 45) is seeking a head coach for their junior varsity team. Interested individuals should submit their football resume to Head Football Coach Shawn Anderson by email at shawnanderson@sd45.bc.ca.

Looking ahead to the
BCFC Week 3

There is still a possibility that the BCFC has an undefeated team by season's end but no team in the league will be able to claim total perfection. The VI Raiders and Langley Rams made sure of that in Week 2 by dueling to a thrilling 31-31 draw last Saturday. Both teams now sit tied atop to the standings with identical 1-0-1 records.

Both teams will try to improve their respective records to 2-0-1 this Saturday when Week 3 in the BCFC resumes with all three league games taking place that day.

The day's action begins with the Kamloops Broncos (1-1) making the trip to the Island to take on the Westshore Rebels (1-1) at 4 pm. The Rebels are coming off a convincing 46-8 win over the Chilliwack Huskers (0-2) while the Broncos were on the wrong end of a 35-7 decision against the Okanagan Sun (1-1) last week.

The marquee match of Week 2 will see the VI Raiders play host to the Okanagan Sun at 5 pm. The Langley Rams will host the winless Chilliwack Huskers at 8 pm.

Free, mandatory concussion education course codes now available for your club from Football BC

With the 2012 season fast approaching, Football BC would like to remind all its members of the updates to its concussion policy which now requires all coaches to complete a mandatory online course found at http://bcfootball.concussioneducation.ca/default.php.

Completion of the course will satisfy the yearly education program component of the Football BC concussion policy which was put into effect back in June 2010.

Each coach will receive a unique PIN number and password from their club team. PIN numbers and passwords should be requested from Football BC from the club's president or primary contact (such as a head coach) who can then forward the codes to the rest of their organization.  To request a code, visit http://bcfootball.concussioneducation.ca/default.php, click "Request" and fill out the appropriate information in the form.
