Cut-Down Camp is this Saturday at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West
Team BC will be holding a final cut-down camp for both the U18 team and the Grade 8 team on Saturday, December 13, 2014. The camp will be held at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West.
The camp runs from 11 am to 4 pm. Check-in begins at 10 am.
Invited players are reminded to register for the camp as soon as possible.

Devils get their due at 2014 Subway Bowl
AAA newcomers South Delta Sun Devils saved their best for last beating out three-time defending Subway Bowl champions, the Mt. Douglas Rams, in dramatic fashion this past Saturday at BC Place scoring a convincing 55-30 victory.

UBC hires Blake Nill as new head coach
The UBC Thunderbirds announced on Tuesday that Blake Nill, formerly of the Calgary Dinos, has joined the team as its new head coach.
Nill is one of the most successful coaches in Canadian Interuniversity Sport football. In 17 seasons as a CIS head coach, he has a career record of 130-47 (regular season and playoffs).
Over the last nine years, Nill led the Dinos to three Vanier Cup appearances (2009, 2010 & 2013) and a record six straight Hardy Cup Championships (2008-13) as the Canada
West's top team. In each of his last seven seasons in Calgary, the Dinos won at least five regular season games and one playoff game.
From 2007-2014, the Dinos had 23 players selected in the Canadian Football League draft, eight of whom were taken in the first round.

The 2015 Combine Series is an opportunity for all amateur football players in BC ages 10-18 to undergo standard Combine testing and be evaluated by Football BC provincial coaches in order to get on the radar for Football BC provincial programs (i.e. Team BC, Senior Bowl). Attendance in a Combine session is required in order to eligible for Football BC's provincial program in the 2015 calendar year.

Nominations open for the 2014 Coach of the Year awards; Winners to be honoured at 2015 Orange Helmet Awards Dinner
The nomination form for the 2014 Coach of the Year awards is now available.

As per usual, there will be two awards you can nominate your respective coaches for: The Community Coach of the Year Award (open to a coach of a Community team or BC Junior team) and the Scholastic Coach of the Year Award (open to a coach of a BC High School team or University team).
The award is open to any coach responsible for coaching a football team (not limited to only head coaches) who has resided or whose primary coaching responsibility was in BC during the 2014 calendar year. Nominees will be considered on the basis of coaching amateur performance only. The full list of criteria can be found on the nomination form.
The deadline to nominate a coach is Friday, December 12,
The winners will be honoured at the 2015 Orange Helmet Awards dinner. This year's event will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver. Ticket information will be available at a later date.

Football BC elementary school skills program
Football BC's elementary school skills program is open to all school aged children and is conducted during regular school hours usually as part of P.E. class.
This program allows kids to learn basic football skills from Football BC coaches as well as volunteer players from local high schools.
