BC-born players on CFL rosters
The 2015 CFL season officially kicks off on Thursday, June 25 when the Montreal Alouettes host the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
While here at Football BC we bleed BC Lions orange for our hometown team and our community partner, who start their season on July 4 in Ottawa, the Lions actually
don't hold the mantle of being
"Team BC" when it comes to the number of BC-born players on their official opening-day roster.
That distinction actually belongs to the Calgary Stampeders, who have six BC-born players on their active roster highlighted by multiple-time CFL All-Star and 2013 Most Outstanding Player Jon Cornish (New Westminster) and newcomer Lemar Durant, the former Centennial Centaur who played last season with Simon Fraser University.
The Leos begin their season with three BC-born players on their active roster, in addition to one on their practice roster. Not included as a BC-born player on the Lions roster, but certainly one with a major local connection, is linebacker Boseko Lokombo, the former WJ Mouat Hawk who was born in Kinslasa, Congo.
Here's a look at the BC-born players across the CFL. Did we miss anyone? Let us know by emailing

Canada Football Academy's Regional Development Training (RDC) follows the highly successful model of USA based National Football Academies Regional Training Camps. CFA's RDC is delievered by CFA/NFA Nationally Certifed Staff and is very intense instruction within a limited enrollment, small group format. Every Athlete receives individual coaching attention unique to a small group setting with a high coach to player ratio. RDC Sessions are built on NFA's proven development model that accelerates understanding and execution of each

Working with NFA Senior Certified staff and learning "Self Correction" principles will give you the competitive advantage you're looking for in preparation for the upcoming season.
