Team BC May Camp wrap-up
Over 100 prospective Team BC players took to the field this past weekend at Simon Fraser University at the Victoria Day Long Weekend camp to try to showcase their skills and impress the coaching staff.
At the conclusion of the camp, Football BC Technical Director and Team BC Defensive Coordinator had this to say:
After witnessing the talent on the field for the Team BC camp this past long weekend, it is easy to see that football is improving across the province.
The combination of more training and more coaching is starting to be evident on the field, whether it is our provincial identification camps, spring flag leagues, training with Game Ready, specialty camps like Football University or the long-running SFU Western Canadian All Star Camp. They all add up to more football and it is having an impact!
There is great size and strength across the lines and the skill positions are dynamic, most evident this past weekend in the receiving group. All coaches know that the competition will be tough and it will be a great challenge to play some American All Stars but measuring up and competing will continue to make us all better.
The Team BC coaching staff is expected to have the next round of selections announced sometime in June.
Team BC will be competing in early January 2013 in San Antonio, Texas facing fellow under-18 All-Star teams from the U.S. and internationally as part of the All-American Bowl week.
