Football BC congratulates the 2009 Punt Pass & Kick winners

Football BC would like to congratulate the following community football players for winning this year’s BC Lions Punt Pass & Kick Tournament:

Flag: Taran Birdi – Cloverdale
Atom: Michael Dowhaniuk – South Surrey White Rock
PeeWee: Arjay Shelley – Coquitlam
Jr. Bantam: Lucas Gibson – North Surrey

The Punt Pass & Kick program tests a player’s accuracy and distance in punting, passing and kicking. Community teams from across the Lower Mainland are invited each year by the Lions to hold inter-squad competitions with the winner representing their team in the final held at BC Place. This year, the final competitions were held on Saturday, September 19th prior to the Lions game against the Toronto Argonauts.

“The BC Lions would like to congratulate all the teams and players for participating in this year’s Punt Pass & Kick,” said Jamie Taras, BC Lions Director of Community Relations. “All our participants competed hard and it is very rewarding to see all the young, talented football players that British Columbia is developing.”

For more information on Punt Pass & Kick, contact Natalie Neumann at the BC Lions Community Relations Department by e-mail at nneumann@bclions.com.
